This week has a central bank decision, US elections and payrolls, which means wide spreads, fast quotes and a lot of load on broker platforms.
Before an event-heavy week, what do you actually check?
Some ideas to start the discussion:
- Is your platform and app updated, and have you tested a login from a second device?
- Do you know your current margin level and what happens at the stop-out threshold?
- Have you looked at how your broker handled spreads and fills during a previous big release?
- Do you have a plan for what to do if the platform freezes while a position is open (phone number, mobile app, a way to place a closing order)?
- Do you clear pending orders before an event or leave them in place?
What is on your checklist, and has a platform problem ever cost you on a news day? Share what you do and what you would change.
How do you check platform stability before a heavy event week?
