This week the Fed, ECB and BOJ all held, and the Bank of Canada hiked. Next week the RBA decides on Tuesday 3 November. After a run of central bank decisions, the calendar can feel quiet, but positioning and yields keep moving.
A few questions to get the discussion going:
1. Do you trade differently in the week after a cluster of decisions, or do you keep the same plan?
2. Which do you watch more once the meetings are over: government bond yields, or the speeches that follow?
3. Do you size down when the calendar is thin and volatility is lower, or does a quieter market make your setups cleaner?
4. How do you review the previous week before starting a new one? What is on your checklist?
No need to share trades or positions. We are interested in process: what you check, in what order, and what you have stopped doing because it did not help.
What is your plan for a week when the central banks have all already spoken?
