Surveys vs hard data: which do you weight more in an event-heavy week?

Today the German Ifo showed better expectations but weaker current conditions, and last week US PMIs beat while gold still fell. Survey data and hard data often disagree.

Some prompts:

1. Do you give surveys (PMI, Ifo, confidence) less weight than hard data such as payrolls, retail sales or CPI?
2. When a survey splits (expectations up, current conditions down), which half do you read first?
3. Do you trade the first reaction or wait for the second look after the release?
4. Which indicators have actually changed a decision for you, and which do you just glance at?

Share your process, not your positions. No signals, please - just how you read the data.
