Next week the Bank of Canada (Wed), the Fed and ECB (Thu) and the Bank of Japan (Fri) all announce decisions, with US core PCE and advance Q3 GDP landing the same day as the Fed.
I am curious how others approach a week like this. A few prompts:
1. Do you trade through it, reduce size, or stay flat around each release?
2. Have you ever defined a rule such as "no new positions within 30 minutes of a decision" and did it help or just make you miss moves?
3. How do you treat open positions that cross a decision: tighten stops, close, or leave them alone?
4. What has been your worst surprise from a press conference rather than the rate decision itself?
No signals please, just process. What does your plan say for a crowded week?
How do you handle a week with four central bank decisions?
